U10 FOUNDATION COURSE
If you are a beginner coach or want some renewed inspiration, the U10 Foundation Course is a great place to start your coaching journey. It provides practical tips on what's important when teaching tennis to 10 and under children.

Common Technical Language
Many coaches have different cue words to describe strokes, well in this course I provide you with some simple cues that work when it comes to teaching technique for children under ten years of age.
For example, a beginner just starting on the red ball;
- FOREHAND - Side on
- "Open the door"
- "close the door"
- SERVE - Feet side on
- Ready (point to target)
- Aim (salute)
- Fire (High 5 the ball)
Having a common technical language helps as a starting point of best practice coaching principles for tennis technique.

Support Skills
All players can rally! Having ideas on how you can 'regress' and 'progress' the development of rally skills is an essential foundation to helping children fall in love with tennis. There are 10 steps to building a rally and 5 steps to improving catching skills, a key component in the development of perceptual skills. There are support skills and creative ideas to help players with skill acquisition at the different stages of development..

Tactical Games
Regardless of how 'pretty' your technique is, tennis is still a game of strategy. Having a clear understanding of the tactical objectives for each stage of U10 development is critical in helping players fall in love with tennis.

Heather Di Marco – Parent of a player – AUSTRALIA
"Emma Doyle casts a shadow and leaves an imprint on many children that she deals with every single day. You always remain in the moment, never distracted from what else is happening in your life, you are the eternal optimist in so many ways, yet you find the way to continue to challenge, and provoke a curiosity for learning in others. What is most important is that you have helped kids like, like my son Connor, grow not just as a player but also as a person. You can only do this from a position of care. Thank you for working with my son."

“I began working with Emma as an aspiring junior tennis player. The thing I remember most about those sessions were Emma’s infectious energy, passion for life and commitment to bringing out the best in your mind and body in every session. Now, the days of junior tennis are long gone, but Emma had such an indelible influence on my life as a coach that she remains to this day a highly respected and loved mentor and friend. This is a credit to Emma as not just a great coach, but a truly exceptional person.”
